I had a great trip with a childhood friend. Mark brought some guys from his office & showed them the Florida keys in style. We had not fished together scene i was in 6th grade but about 30min into our trip the live mullet started getting nervous & the rest is history. We had 5 bites & released his first tarpon (est. about 75-80lbs)
Its Tarpon Time here in the Florida Keys & if you want to catch one give me a call & lets set up a trip. (305) 393-3327

Weather has been horrible the last two days so i cancelled fishing & took a few days off with my girl... Just got back into town & got an email from a friend at Sport Fishing Magazine that they used a photo i took during a Mahi Mahi Tournament. The angler is Monica Cato & the guy on the gaff is her hubby Nick.
We were fishing off a 40ft SeaHunter & Monica won 2nd largest Mahi Mahi & top female angler in the event. Here is a link to the article... I had a family in town on spring break from Jacksonville, we went out for a little rod bending trip and the bottom fishing was outa sight. We released so many hogfish i lost count, they caught a few mutton snapper and grouper as well. It was a fun day on the h20, if you would like to get away with your kids give me a call & we can book a trip. 305-393-3327 We just got in from an epic day of live bait tarpon fishing, my client had his son & collage friends in town for spring break. We decided to take the guys out tarpon fishing in his 40ft SeaHunter so we filled the bait wells with live mullet. The bite was awesome & the guys hooked 9 tarpon. My longtime client & good friend James was in town from London. The weather was perfect & it was good to watch him pull on a few Silver Kings. We used my new Nautilus Fly Reel & i am happy to report we tested out the drag on a few good sized poons!
Just had a great fishing charter with my long time client B. Clark & his family who are in town from Texas. The weather was not great but the Tarpon fishing was, we hooked 5 big tarpon. We were fishing out of my 24 SeaHunter Bay Boat, if you want to get in on some of this great action send me an email & lets book a date. [email protected] After a 45-50min fight the leader wore through but this big tarpon gave us a great fight with lots of jumps just like a big tarpon should!
I took my girlfriend out fishing a few days ago for the afternoon tide, it was her birthday and i wanted to catch her a tarpon. As we were pulling up to our spot we saw a friend fighting a fish so i knew the bite was on. We put our baits out and started our drift, they were rolling all over the place & it was slick calm conditions. About 30 min into the fight my buddy called and said the fish they were fighting was really big & asked if i had my camera. We were at the end of the drift so ran over & watched him release this sea monster... Lisa jumped a nice tarpon of about 75-80lbs but it looked like a minnow compared to our friends whopper. Congrat's to Capt. Ben Ekbloom & his angler on this big tarpon. Over the last 2 days i have been fishing around the local bridges with live mullet, and getting lots of bites from big Tarpon but having a hard time keeping a hook in them. Yesterday we fought a really big one but after a 5 min battle the hook was thrown back at us on the final jump. Along with the Tarpon have been school after school of big jacks which put up a great fight on light spinning rods.
The bottom fishing has been great the last few days, i spent the weekend fishing with a longtime client his son & soon to be daughter in law who were in from Indiana getting a little break from a cold winter. We fished off his 42 HydraSports Custom & i have to say every time i get on that boat it amazes me. They caught a limit of flag yellowtail which made for a great dinner & a few other species along the way.
